EDM 721 Technology and Innovation in Education – 3 CREDITS
Purpose:
The main objective of this course is to provide students with the necessary technological skills to enhance educational practices. In light of the current technological era and the online nature of the school, it is crucial to equip students with technology and help them understand its significance in education.
Expected Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this course, students will be able to
- Recognize the importance of technology in education,
- Utilize various technological devices in school management and learning,
- Incorporate digital tools into the curriculum.
Course content:
This course investigates the role of technology in enhancing educational practices. Students will explore innovative instructional methods, digital tools, and technology integration into the curriculum. Topics include introduction to Technology and Innovation, types of innovation, technology and innovation Ecosystems, digital transformation and disruption, innovation and management, Technology and innovation policy, emerging technologies and trends, innovation and entrepreneurship, measuring innovation and performance, and action planning and implementation.
