Course Description

In our changing and technological world, there are always contemporary problems to be solved. Consequently, there are new findings in the field of leadership and management. This general course on Trends in Leadership and Management is a program designed to equip students with strong principles and current issues in the field of leadership and management. Therefore, this curriculum aims to teach students the essential leadership and management skills rooted in research findings, cultural values, and a proper understanding of human nature.  The course will prepare the students to stay up-to-date on research findings on contemporary topics in Leadership and Management.

Program objectives:

The objectives of the program are to research current and strategic issues in leadership and management. It will examine and analyze contemporary issues with a bid to implement them in different organizations for effectiveness. It aims at equipping the students with the needed skills to analyze and handle correct issues professionally. Students will also be able to recognize factors that foster good management practices in both themselves and others.

Outcomes of the program:

Upon completion of the program, students will have achieved the following:

1. Ability to assess and implement effective leadership and management practices.

2. Skills to analyze contemporary issues

3. Ability to research and implement findings in an organization.

4. Demonstrate integrity as leaders, with the ability to overcome biases and cultural assumptions to promote justice and compassion in the workplace.

Mode of instruction: The program will follow a semester-based structure, with two semesters per academic year. Face-to-face learning will be conducted through lectures and tutorials, while online learning will include interactive sessions, modules, and group discussions. Additionally, students will participate in a week-long residency
